Today, we have carved a niche as one of the leading Sterile Noradrenaline Concentrate Injection Exporters in India. N 0 R -S, a sympathomimetic agent, contains Nor-adrenaline bitartrate 2mg/ml and is available in the market as 4 mg/ 2 ml in an Amber glass Ampoule.
Clinical Information Noradrenaline Injection is indicated for use as an emergency measure in the restoration of blood pressure in cases of acute hypotension or shock (myocardial infraction, anaphylactic shock, hypotension during anesthesia etc.) & Cardiac arrest.
Intrahypothalamic Noradrenaline Injection is also indicated for use in Cardiac Arrest, cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Absorption and Fate When given by mouth, Noradrenalin in NOR-S is completely inactive. When given by injection, noradrenalin is rapidly taken up from the circulation by adrenergic nerves or inactivated.
Dosage and Mode of Administration NOR-S is usually administered by Intravenous Infusion as a solution containing 8mcg to 4mcg of the base per ml of Dextrose or Sodium Chloride Injection. The solution is usually given at a rate of 1 to 3 ml per minute and adjusted according to response after 30 seconds to maintain the Blood Pressure. If the rate is inadequate to maintain the blood pressure, the equivalent of further 4rncg" per ml may be added to the infusion. The infusion can be continued for days but the drug should not be stopped suddenly, but very gradually withdrawn to guard against the fall in Blood pressure.
Contraindications NOR-S should not be given to
Patients with hypotension by blood insufficiency.
Patients with hyperthyroidism.
Patients with hypertension.
Patients with renal dysfunction.
Patients with cor pulmonale.
Patients with severe arrhythmia.
Pregnant women or women who have possibility of pregnancy.
Precautions NOR-S should be administered with great caution to following patients:
Patients with cocaine intoxication or ventricular tachycardia
Patients with arterial sclerosis and bradycardia
Patients with heart diseases
Patients with hypotension following myocardial infractions
Side Effects Nausea, Vomiting, cardiopalmus, bradycardia, intrathoractic pain, abnormal increase of blood pressure, peripheral ischaemia such as gangerene, dyspnea, necrosis at injection site.
The use of noradrenaline during anaesthesia with Cyclopropane or halogenated hydrocarbons is contraindicated because of risk of cardiac arrhythmia.
The use of drug with proterenol or catecholamines such as isopronaline may cause heart arrest.
The use of noradrenaline with thyroid drugs may cause coronary insufficiency.
The use of noradrenaline with MONOAMINEOXIDASE, Tricyclic antidepressants, oxytocics, antihistamine may potentiate the pressor effects of norepnephrine resulting in severe, prolonged hypertension.
The use of drug with hypotensor such as Insulin may decrease effects of hypotensor.
The use of drug will guanethidine may cause remarkable increase of arterial tension.
The use of drug with spironolactone may reduce action of blood vessel.
